Night life:
The most discotheques are in Rhodes-town and in the center of Faliraki. There you can also find numerous pubs and bars. Since the owners and the names change frequently we can give no recommendations here, so it would be better to ask at your Hotel.
Don't miss a visit to a night-club, (bouzoukia) with Greek singers and musicians. The best nights are Friday and Saturday, because on these nights many Greek people are there and the atmosphere is fantastic. 
The Greek Dance Group directed by Nelly Dimoglou holds daily performances of folk dances in the old theatre of Rhodes, from May to October.
Also you can visit the casino in Rhodes-town (near by Elli-beach). There you can play roulette, blackjack, Caribbean stud poker or slot machines.

Post office:
The main Post office is at Mandraki, opposite the church of the Annunciation in Rhodes town. Most shops that sell postcards also sell stamps. In most hotels the postcards can be passed on to the reception.

Public transport:
Good bus services (organisations: KTEL and RODA):
Rhodes - Faliraki, Rhodes - Kallithea, Rhodes - Archangelos, Rhodes - Lindos, Rhodes - Airport, Rhodes - Ixia and Trianda, Rhodes - Ialyssos and inside the town. Most buses start at the Eleftherias Square, in front of the new market at Mandraki.

Shopping
Rhodes is ideal for many kinds of shopping; ranging from jewellery (for example Rodos-Gold at the main road Rhodes - Lindos, 2 kilometers in front of Faliraki), furs and leather (old town) ensembles to tiny souvenirs. 
You will find beautiful needlework in Lindos, Embona and the old town, carpets and ceramics in Archangelos, honey and Souma (high-proof schnapps) in Sianna and Embona. The extensive choice of Compact Discs with Greek music you will find at "Manuels Music Center", Rhodes, 25th Martiou Street 11-13.  

Sports:
The beaches of Rhodes are a paradise for sea sports. Particularly at the East Coast the water sports offer is very big -
Among other things water-skiing, wind surfing, jet skiing, paragliding (Faliraki, Afandou, Tsambika, Lindos) and scuba diving (Kallithea).
The East Coast, with its calmer waters, might be advisable for wind surfing beginners. Experienced windsurfers will be sure to find very good conditions at the West Coast and at Prassonissi, which is known as "Surfer's Paradise".
Two companies teach scuba diving and both start from Mandraki harbour and both give lessons in Kalithea (Dive Med Centers and Waterhoppers).
An 18-hole golf course can be found at Afandou, 18 km from Rhodes town on the East Coast of the Island. If you don't have the necessary gear, you can rent it right on the course. 
Many of the large hotels (particularly in Faliraki and Trianda) have tennis courts.
Bungee jumping is offered in Faliraki.

Time:
Greek time is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and one hour ahead of Central European Time and seven hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.

Tourist Police:
The Tourist Police Headquarters is in Rhodes town. All the main resorts areas have branches of the Tourist Police, whose duties include the inspection of hotels, restaurants and bars. Tourist Police officers who speak foreign languages bear the flag of the country in which the language is spoken on their uniforms.
