Monte Smith

The ancient acropolis of Rhodes is to be found in the district Ag. Stefanos (Monte Smith). It is less than 3 km from the centre of Rhodes-town. This may be reached either by foot or with bus number 5, which leaves Eleftherias square (new market) every half-hour.
Here you can see the ruins of the Temples to Athena Polias and Pythian Apollo. A lower level contains the ancient 2nd century BC stadium and the old theatre close by.
